As a photographer, one of the most rewarding experiences is connecting with soon-to-be mamas and capturing the beauty of their pregnancy journey. There’s something so magical about the way a mother-to-be glows during pregnancy, and it’s a privilege to capture that glow through my lens.

One of my favourite settings for maternity sessions is the beach. The soft sand, gentle waves, and the serene atmosphere make a perfect backdrop for capturing the beauty and tranquility of pregnancy. During these sessions, I get to share in the excitement and anticipation as we work together to create stunning and memorable images that capture this special moment in your life. There’s a certain energy and connection that comes from working with moms-to-be, and it’s something that I cherish as a photographer.

One of the best parts about beach maternity photography sessions is the opportunity to get creative with the styling of the shoot. This is where the client closet comes in! Clients have access to my full closet, which has options of beautiful dresses and outfits specifically chosen to complement your vision for the session. This ensures that mamas and their little ones feel amazing during the session, and it makes for some truly stunning photos!

For our session, this mama chose a gorgeous, flowing, pink dress from a local store in Leslieville – Good Neighbour. It’s like colour looks perfect with the setting sun and the yellow buds on the trees. It’s perfect for expecting mamas or mamas who like a more flowing, earthy look to their images.

The client closet helps elevate the visual quality of the images, and it also makes the process of preparing for the shoot so much easier! You don’t have to worry about finding the perfect outfit, or spending money on clothes you might not wear again or your little ones will grow out of. Instead, you can focus on enjoying the experience and feeling beautiful in the outfits you’ve chosen.

In addition to the client closet, I also style the shoot to ensure that the overall aesthetic is cohesive and visually appealing. From selecting the location to choosing the props and accessories, I take care of all the details so that that mamas and their families can simply relax and enjoy the experience.

This maternity session was so much fun and this mama was such a trooper with the chilly winds! My favourite part of the session was when baby’s big sister – who was playing on the beach and watching Mama take photos – joined for a sweet hug and kiss! It’s these special moments during sessions that make my heart sing.
